room to journal...

Right, here we go... the beginnings of my bullet-cum-art journal I mentioned last week...

As I understand it, the purpose of a bullet journal is to keep all the elements of your life in one place: appointments, to-do lists, meal planners, finances, etc. But I already do most of that in my trusty Filofax, and I have separate prayer and gratitude journals which I began last year. And I'm using this planner already to plan and track my weekly/monthly writing...

So... I've decided to keep this journal for arty-type things, such as paint and pen test pages, journal prompts, book/film/TV reviews, and of course, the odd Moonboard (as pictured here, from yesterday afternoon, the day of the Full Moon, which just so happened to be a BLUE MOON, the second full moon of a calendar month - so actually, they're not THAT rare, despite the saying! But what is rare, this Full Blue Moon happened to be a Super Moon [appears 10-15% larger as it's closer to Earth in its orbit] AND there is a lunar eclipse - the last time all that happened at once was 1866, apparently!)

Anyway...

In true bullet journal style, I've added tabs - Quotes, Blog Ideas, Reviews, Pen and Paint Tests, with space to add more. As I'm using an A4 Moleskine sketchbook, there's plenty of pages to fill AND a trusty pocket at the back to store random bits of paper/pictures until I find a place for them.

I haven't got much done in it yet, as it's been a busy week, but I've made a start, and that's the main thing. Sharing my desk over here at Julia's Stamping Ground.

Wow you really do like being organised. Love the moon page and those tabs to find things easily. I haven't come across the A4 Moleskine but I'm enjoying my 8" x 5" now I've finally started working in it. have a good week. Sarah #12

It’s looking good and I like the idea.
I’m toying with the idea of making a personalised journal/binder myself as I use different note books for different things .
I may need to do a mock up one first to see if I can make it work

I've been reading quite a bit about the super/blue moon/eclipse - interesting stuff that appeals to the statisticians of life! I've just had a hard look at the spelling of statisticians and had to check it cos it didn't look right! Anyhow, enough wittering - your journal looks so well organised - an aim I aspire to but will never achieve :-D

Hi Claire, loving the journal. I like how you plan to use it too. I know full well I'd be a total waste of time trying one- I'd lose interest/ fall behind within days, lol. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #6 XxX

Hello Claire, that's a lovely Moonboard - I'm imagining the room behind the window is very comfortable and welcoming. I have a planner/diary which serves the same purpose as a bullet journal though it is really needing brought up to date ... I'm just not so well organised. Happily, my phone has a calendar, to-do list and notebook that helps me keep organised. I nurse all sorts of good intentions for keeping a written journal but so far I've done nothing about it. So good luck with your art journal and have a great week. Elizabeth x #25

I like what I read about these bullet journals but I have so many diaries going on at the moment I dare not start anything else. Guess what? Someone has given me a diary over here to take back home with me!
Tried to waken for the Moon but guess we fell asleep and will just have to watch it on tv this morning - I stayed awake late and guess that was a mistake.
Enjoy your bulleting!

ps Michaels went off but now has got some really cool stuff in - I always like the home decor but cannot bring things back - too large and too costly to ship!
Sounding like you're getting very organised with the journaling business. Hope we get to see more. Thanks for the visit to mine, have a lovely woyww and happy crafty week, Angela xXx
Starting is always a good thing,I have a book for my art projects this year wanderlust,365solethings2018 and of course woyww. Thx for your visit earlier, Vicky

I've gone Moon crazy too. Been out for a walk to try and capture it as it was rising above the tree line and rooftops but my phone camera isn't that good. I did venture into the woods but it was jolly dark!! Loving your journal and all your ponderings about it. Thanks for the visit BJ#19

A while back I did join in with a challenge to keep a journal. Kept at it for quite a few months, then life got in the way and it is tucked away on a shelf somewhere.:-( I really need to keep a planner. I jot things on pieces of paper , in notebooks and then forget where everything is. Thank you for popping by. I am late visiting as I had to go and do some shopping earlier, for my Aunt. We then took it over to her and had coffee and cake. Have a great week. Anne x #17

I've wondered about "bullet" journaling, as it seems very popular at the moment. I have my daytimer at work, and art journals, but I know I'd never be able to cross the two to create in my work journal!

Have a great week.

That is all super-organised, Claire! My poor brain can't get itself around organised these days and mostly I seem to be pretty chaotic! Thanks for your visit, and I'm still thinking about a name for my monster Cropadile!

Happy belated WOYWW,

That is a lot of planners, journals and to-do books.! Just as long as you don’t get the guilts if you don’t fill them all or forget or don’t have time to do something Daily. You want pleasure, not slavery from such lovely things!
