room to understand...

And on my desk today....

... a playful session in the Quotes section of my bullet journal. I had a go at scraping paint straight from the tube across the page using an old loyalty card (for here, if you're interested 😋 )

And what can you espy at the top of the picture?? A wee card and this, from the delectable Ms Dunnit! THANK YOU, JULIA!!

I will wear it with pride on my coat, along with my daffodil for this great charity.

Today is quite a day - Ash Wednesday AND Valentine's - we're going to the local 'ashing' service here...
(image from google)

... after we've enjoyed this - a last hurrah before we focus on Lent 🙏

(image from google)

I am endeavouring to finish my Alphabet of Rooms asap (which you can find in the sidebar, just press the wee lines icon upper left on the homepage, and it will appear); and then I'm taking a break from the internet (other than checking emails) during Lent.

Sharing here at WOYWW.

Loving the colours you used on your bullet journal. Also the effect from scraping the colour on.
What a pretty church, I take it that is an old photograph - shame the weather will not be as kind as it looks on here. Am sure that you don't need the weather though to have a lovely service.

Enjoy your day Claire. I’ve never heard of that service.
Have you heard of forty bags for forty days ? Each day you give away a bag of things. It can be anything, clothes to the charity shop, books, food, whatever. A great recycling event and easier than giving up chocolate haha.

Have a great day Claire. I love using an old credit card for spreading paint, you never know exactly what you're going to end up with. Love your journal spread. See you again after Easter. Sarah #14

I love the bright colours in your journal! How bright and breezy are they? I love the fact that you used some plastic to smooth the colours around, that's very pleasing and what all store cards should be used for. Your church looks beautiful, Lenten services can often be sombre but so beautiful.

Happy WOYWW. You are certainly going to have a feast later. I love to scrape paint on journal pages - very satisfying. Do you do any Bible journaling? I have literally done a few pages - and something that I must make more time for. I should take a break from social media too - as so much time gets spent on it - but living in such a remote location and with chronic illness, it is often the only way for me to communicate with the outside world. I'm not sure I understand the concept of an OLD loyalty card for a chocolate shop! It did a good job on the paint though, the page looks great. Admiring your choice of giving up the internet for lent..we'll see you on the other side!
Lots of lovely bright colour for a grey old day! You are good giving things up for lent - I shan't bother as I will be away for most of it - no willpower when abroad! But I'm not a big choccie person anyway, Christmas stash still pretty much intact. Thanks for the visit - see you after Easter? Happy Wednesday, Cindy #22

Hi Claire, Ashing is a wonderful tradition, beautifully symbolic. Hope the service was all you hoped.
Love the bright nature colours for the Eistein quote, nice and cheerful for a grotty grey day.
Thanks for visiting my desk, I really miss not being able to craft easily in our present situation, if I manage to do a bit, I get a great deal of satisfaction at having achieved something.
Happy WOYWW

Happy Valentines Day. I love the journal page, and giving up the internet for Lent is very courageous. Even without work, I'm not sure I could do it.

I'm guessing this is Caythorpe in Lincolnshire. I've been there a couple of times to the Agricultural college. Hope you've had a lovely day and thanks for the visit to mine. Have a great woyww and happy crafting, Angela x20x

busy looking desk! I love those brilliant colors. I found out that if you use the distress paints and use a stencil over the top with plain gesso the gesso will pick up the colors. I may try the scraping with a card and then the stencil...will post results. Valentines was quiet here...we went to a really nice meal and now I am home on the computer for a few minutes. I gave up computer for a few weeks and really didn't miss it but was glad to be back. Have fun crafting more. Vickie #39
Lucious colours with a fab quote, pitoresque church and delightful food, what can life be beautiful, have a lovely week, vicky

That's quite something, giving up the internet for Lent, I would struggle with that more than chocolate or coffee even ... in fact, you probably won't see this as I'm late visiting this week. Look forward to seeing you when you're back :o) Annie C #10

That looks a large spire for a small church. Giving up the internet for Lent now that's a good idea, perhaps people should give their phones up and learn to talk to one another again. Ani #17
